WELCOME

Dorna Sapiano Welcome pageMy name is Donna Sapiano, and I am delighted to have you here, interested in me and my books.

Let's start at the beginning. :o)

I was born in the 1960's. I am a physically disabled, married mother of two grown boys. I live with my devoted husband Ray, a man I have known since 1981 and married since 1987. We live in beautiful Merrickville, Ontario, Canada.

Although my hands are deformed and I am in a wheelchair, I can still hold a stylus (held together with an illustrator's glove and a hair elastic) and operate a computer. With specialized equipment, such as my 21-inch Huion illustrator's tablet, I have successfully written, illustrated and published several children's books.

The titles of my books are :

1. A Fun Way To Memorize The Capitals Of CanadaCapitals of Canada

I use pictures, rhyme and mnemonics throughout the book to make it easier to memorize the capitals of Canada. In this book, the map of  Canada, indicating the province,  is displayed on the left, while the corresponding capital of that province is illustrated with a fun drawing, text and mnemonics on the right. Memorizing the capitals of Canada becomes easy and entertaining. Parents informed me they have witnessed their children testing each other with hints and tips from my book.  I was thrilled to discover this.

2. The Cauldron Street ClanThe Cauldron Street Clan.

A story in rhyme that explores being different and shunned just for how you look. A selfless act of heroism by a shunned family not only saved a life, but also started a wave of empathy that erased the bigotry that was growing in the community. Don't worry, it has a very happy ending.

3. Winston Eats His Way Through The Alphabet

Winston Eats Through the ABCs

A fun, educational journey through the Alphabet, with Winston, the hungry Biewer Terrier (pronounced Beaver Terrier).  Winston loves to eat, and as we go from A to Z, you will notice that he keeps eating the examples of each letter, even though he probably shouldn’t.  Older Children love to read to the very young, motivated by the challenge of solving various clues related to each letter. As a result the older children become the teacher while the much younger children learn their alphabet for the first time. I created this ABC book to entertain and teach the very young and the much older child.

My books are available through Amazon in Canadian funds (and worldwide in different currencies) in three formats: ebook, Kindleunlimited ebook and paperback.  Hardcover books are in the works.  We will see if it is possible and will add this format on Amazon if it is viable.

NOTE:
REMEMBER, don't let your age or a disability get in the way of your dreams. :o)
